Romance Writers Weekly ~ What Time of Day Are You? ~ #LoveChatWrite

This week, on the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop, we're asked the question: "Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or nighttime? Why?"

Oh, that's easy.  Nighttime, baby. All the way. I was born in the wee hours of the night and I've been a night owl ever since. I have nothing against the rest of the day. In fact I once had a job that required me to be on the road before the sun came up. I saw some fantastic sunrises during that time--which was an awesome job perk.

But give me the night--when everything is quiet and everyone's asleep, and I can write in peace--and I'm a happy camper.

Now, hop on over to Leslie Hachtel's page and find out what her favorite time of day is. And don't forget to check out her book, The Jester's Dance.

The Lady Margaret, widowed and lonely, seeks adventure and goes to court disguised as a jester. She falls in love with a handsome Scotsman, Seth, who enlists her help to rescue his family. Together they must face danger, intrigue, and enemies determined to pull them apart. Can their love survive? Can they?

Romance Writers Weekly ~ Cellphone Wallpaper ~ #LoveChatWrite

This week, on the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop, we're asked the question: "What is your cellphone/laptop wallpaper?"

Oh, boy. I guess we're going here, huh? So okay, usually, the wallpaper on my cellphone is adorable pics of my grandson or pretty shots of nature--flowers, butterflies, trees, a great blue heron, etc. And my computer (laptop and desktop) have pics of the cover(s) of whatever book(s) I'm working on at the moment (in an attempt to keep myself focused and motivated). But two weeks ago I lost my heart dog and now everything is pictures of him.

That's him on the left, btw--the big guy. I miss him a lot. We still have our little girl (for now) but neither of them are/were as young as they were when that picture was taken.

Anyway... why don't you hop on over to Brenda Margriet's page now and find out what's out of character for her. And don't forget to check out her book, Too Good for Words.

The final book in the Silverberry Seduction Seasoned Romance Series is now available to preorder! TOO GOOD FOR WORDS

Romance Writers Weekly ~ Out of Character ~ #LoveChatWrite

This week, on the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop, we're asked the question: "What’s the most out-of-character thing you’ve ever done?"

You know, I'm a pretty predictable person. I can't honestly think of anything I've done that was really out of character for me. I  mean, doesn't the very fact that I did it (whatever it was) suggest that it was in character for me, no matter how much someone else might think otherwise? I think signing up to run a 5k race might be the only thing I can think of--since I don't generally think of myself as being particularly athletic or competitive.

The thing is though, occasionally I am both of those things. So...how out of character was it, really?

Anyway... why don't you hop on over to Brenda Margriet's page now and find out what's out of character for her. And don't forget to check out her book, Too Good for Words.

Romance Writers Weekly ~ Favorite Scents ~ #LoveChatWrite

This week, on the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop, we're asked the question: "Name your three favourite smells. Why are they your favourite? What is it they evoke, or what memories do they trigger?"

This is a very difficult question! Actually, any question where I'm asked to select a favorite or small selection of favorites is always going to be difficult for me. To quote Walt Whitman, "I contain multitudes." So, I'll just pick three at random.

I love the smell of chamomile. I first smelled this when on vacation with my family on a working dairy farm in Vermont. I think I  was five?

I love the smell of coffee--it's the smell of morning. Since my husband doesn't drink coffee, it reminds me (again) of childhood, or vacation. If I smell coffee before getting out of bed in the morning, it means someone else is making me breakfast--yay!

I  love the scent of pine needles/sap. It reminds me of a resort in the Pocono mountains where I used to vacation with my grandmother.

Now, hop on over to Leslie Hachtel's page and learn what some of her favorite smells are. And don't forget to check out her book, Texas Summer.

What if your car broke down on a deserted highway in the middle of Texas?  Would you think it was fate and that it would change your life?

When Wylie Nichols walked toward the nearest town, his future was forever altered.  The problem when you’re a stranger in a small town is you never know what you might discover.  In this particular place, there is murder, greed, lust.

But waiting is earthy, sexy, enigmatic Kennedy.  With a convoluted family history and the power to make his dreams come true.

Romance Writers Weekly ~ Where Do You Live? ~ #LoveChatWrite

This week, on the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop, we're asked the question: "Why do you live where you do? How long have you lived there?"

That's something of a loaded question, actually. I hate moving. I don't even like thinking about it. And yet I've moved 22 times in the past 45 years. I've lived in six different states, was born and raised in New Jersey and consider California home.

Currently, however, I live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. I've been here for about a year and a half. My husband and I moved here shortly after our son and his family did so that we could be close to our grandson.

I'm still adjusting.

Now, hop on over to Leslie Hachtel's page and learn where she lives and why. And don't forget to check out her book, Stay With Me.
