So, this is a new winery for me, from a new-to-me AVA--Suisun--which is located in Solano County, not far from where I used to live. I noted a lot of dark fruit notes on the nose along with violets and cocoa. It's bright and lively, very juicy and fruit forward with a smooth finish that carries hints of blueberry and tobacco.
It's not a very heavy wine which is a little surprising from a Zinfandel/Syrah blend but there you have it. Paso Robles has the lock on big, impressive Zins, as far as I'm concerned.
I'd love to tell you what it looks like, but my grandson insisted I use the Space Alien coffee mug we bought for him when we took a cross country trip to visit family in California.
