Romance Writers Weekly ~Christmas Short Stories ~ #LoveChatWrite

This week's prompt, on the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop is,  "Hallmark movies are known for their delightful predictability. Can you write your own in 500 words or less?"

And you know what? No, I can't. lol! It takes me more words than that just to describe one of my holiday stories! I love Hallmark movies. When my mom was recovering from her broken neck (and out of her mind on pain meds) We watched them all day/every day. My dad hated the predictability.  But he used to watch murder mysteries--ain't nothing more predictable than that!

Anyway, I try to write at least one Holiday story a year. Last year's Christmas Angel was the most Hallmarky of the bunch. This year, I'm releasing FIVE Christmas stories--one every Sunday in December. So, I'm running low on my Sugar Plum Fairy Dust.

I do have three very short stories--still longer than 500 words--available as free reads on my website, so I think that'll have to be my contribution for the week. You can find them here: https://www.pgforte.com/only-for-the-holidays

Now, hop on over to Brenda Margriet's page to read her holiday short! And don't forget to check out her book, The Promise of Frost.

Only 99 cents for the holiday season!

An adventurous kitten, a curious dog, and a matchmaking eight-year-old guarantee this will be a holiday to remember.

Luca Tannon’s new neighbour is a sexy but surly single dad. Which is all for the best since she’s intent on reclaiming her life after a toxic long-term relationship.

Caleb Frost won’t let anything distract him from ensuring his son’s first Christmas as the child of divorced parents is perfect. And that includes the irritatingly intriguing woman living next door.

Everything is going as planned…until it’s not.

It’s beginning to look a lot like NIX-mas!

Nick Greco is getting worried. His wife has never been a big fan of the holiday season, but this year she seems more distant than ever before. In fact, the last time that he can remember seeing her this distracted was right before their wedding—when she tried to back out of marrying him.

Can you get cold feet after the fact? Is Scout feeling overwhelmed by the holidays? Or underwhelmed by…gulp…him?

Whatever the cause, Nick has a plan. He’s going to spice up their marriage and put the heat back in the holidays. And when he’s done, Scout won’t be saying, “Bah Humbug!” She’ll be saying, “ho, ho…OH!”
