New Chance to win Edge of Heaven

Feeling lucky? Want to win a copy of my new release,  Edge of Heaven? Well, here's your chance. Writing in Tandem/Jamie Craig Books has chosen it as this week's giveway!

Check out the details here:

And good luck!

Or...if you don't want to wait (or you're not feeling that lucky) you can always buy the book HERE

It was a reckless act of passion that ended Edge’s life and left him in Limbo -- literally. Now, he’s stuck here. While most of the other angels-in-training move quickly up the celestial ladder, Edge knows it can never be that simple for him. He’s dealing with issues that are a lot more complicated than a simple lack of closure.

While Edge doesn’t know for sure what it will take to get him into Heaven, there is one thing he’s certain won’t help -- his latest assignment guiding angel-baby Matteo Matinucci while the newbie find his wings.

But twenty-something Mattie -- sexy, beautiful, recently departed, and openly gay -- could turn out to be the answer to all of Edge’s prayers, as well as the fulfillment of all his fantasies, even the hot, sweaty, secret ones he’s never confided to anyone. And by helping to send Mattie to Heaven, Edge just might end up saving both their souls.

New Release! Edge of Heaven

My new book, Edge of Heaven is now available at Loose Id! Edge is one of those serendipitous stories where the opening pretty much wrote itself, after which the whole story seemed to stall. You see, Edge refused to admit he was gay. He even had me convinced for awhile. Once Mattie showed up, however, all Edge's lies started to unravel. The story came together pretty fast after that.

I really have to thank my wonderful editor for believing in this story and coaxing me through several rounds of edits.  Personally, I think it's possibly the most humorous book I've written to date. I hope you'll enjoy it!

More information (or to buy the book) visit Loose Id.  To read another excerpt (okay, maybe two excerpts) visit my website at: www.PGForte.com

And now, here's the blurb and small sneak peek...

It was a reckless act of passion that ended Edge’s life and left his soul in limbo—literally. Now, he’s stuck here. While most of the other angels-in-training move quickly up the celestial ladder, Edge knows it can never be that simple for him. He’s dealing with issues that are a lot more complicated than a simple lack of closure.

While Edge doesn’t know for sure what it will take to get him into heaven, there is one thing he’s certain won’t help—his latest assignment guiding angel-baby Matteo Matinucci while the newbie find his wings.

But twenty-something Mattie—sexy, beautiful, recently departed and openly gay—could turn out to be the answer to all of Edge’s prayers, as well as the fulfillment of all his fantasies, even the hot, sweaty, secret ones he’s never confided to anyone.

Excerpt:

Matt runs his fingers along my jaw. My heart is racing, but this time I don’t resist the caress. His eyes are hot on my face as he slides a cautious hand to the back of my neck. We’ve been here before. My heart beats faster at the thought. And knowing he means to draw me in for another kiss, I beat him to it. Grabbing hold of his shirt, I yank him forward. He dips his head; I lift my face. There’s an instant of confusion as we jockey for position, but finally our mouths connect. Lips parting. Tongues touching. Breath mingling. He sighs with something that sounds a lot like relief, and it’s all I can do to keep from whimpering in response. This time I want more than a taste. This time I want everything. I want it all. To hell with the consequences.
As I press him closer, I sense the shift beginning. The space around us alters, and the hall disappears. I don’t know where we’re going, and I truly don’t care. It’s Matteo who breaks the kiss, eyes wide with surprise. “Where are we now? Edge, what is this place?”
I cast a quick appraising glance at our surroundings. We’re in a bedroom -- which doesn’t exactly surprise me -- and a damn nice one too from what I can see of it. “Beats me. Don’t you know?”
He shakes his head. “No. Why would I? I mean, it looks a little familiar, I guess, but not really.”
“Interesting.” I take another look. The bed is huge. It completely dominates the room -- much in the same way the idea of what we’re about to do dominates my thoughts. It doesn’t take a genius to make the connection -- to guess which of us is responsible for that part of the illusion. Embarrassed, I pull my gaze away from it. Through an open archway, I catch a glimpse of marble and tile from what I can only assume is a sunken tub. Everything is decorated in rich shades of burgundy, chocolate, and gold lit by firelight from an immense stone fireplace, and if all that sounds like it might be a little over the top, a little too gaudy or girlie, I’m describing it wrong.
Because it’s not like that. Not at all. It’s just warm and comfortable and solid. It feels right -- just like all of this does. It feels like home, except it’s nowhere I’ve ever seen and a lot nicer than most of the places I’ve been. “I guess it’s ours, then.”
“What do you mean ‘it’s ours’? How can it be ours? That would kind of imply there’s an us…wouldn’t it?”
Again with the talking? I bite back a sigh. Having finally made up my mind to do this, I’d really appreciate it if we could get on with it before I come to my senses and try and back out of the deal. “Don’t read so much into it. All I meant was that it’s probably our combined thoughts that created everything here rather than just one of us alone.”
He gazes around again. “So…we did this? Together?”
“Pretty much.”
“With our thoughts? Like with the drinks and the pretzels and the clothes…only more so?”
“Pretty much.” I run my hands over his chest, getting a charge from the illicit thrill of touching him like this. I know it’s okay. I know it’s what we came here for, but it still feels just as wrong as it feels right.
“And it’s ours? Meaning we can do whatever we want here?”
A shudder runs through me. “Whatever we want. Yes.” His words echo in my mind. If that’s not an invitation to sin, I don’t know what is. Images fill my head, thoughts of everything that simple phrase could possibly contain. My cock pulses impatiently. I clear my throat. “That kinda would be the general idea.”

When Writing Worlds Collide

I'm blogging today about all the fun and freaky serendipity that occurs when you share muses with other authors. Muses who seem inclined to save time by multi-tasking, I might add.

To read all about it, visit the Nine Naughty Novelists at:

I also want to announce a new release coming soon. Edge of Heaven (published by Loose Id) is being released on July 20. Yes, just two weeks away and I wish I had a cover to share with you, but sadly that's still in the works. Sigh.

Those of you who know me, know how excruciatingly hard I find it to wait on covers. While we're waiting, here's a blurb and excerpt:

Welcome to the afterlife, where men are men and the angels are fallen...

Edge is an unlikely angel. Unable to atone for the sins he committed while human, he's resigned to spending the rest of eternity in Limbo. Until he meets a miracle named Mattie.

It was a reckless act of passion that ended Edge’s life and left him in Limbo—literally.

And by helping to send Mattie to Heaven, Edge just might end up saving both their souls.

Warning: This book contains angels in the afterlife, a host of heavenly hotties worth falling for, and man on man angel sex—so good, you’ll be dying to get some.

Excerpt:

Prologue

People have all sorts of misconceptions about angels. They think we’re perfect. They think we don’t have feelings or emotions or lust after each other’s bodies -- and occasionally after yours as well. That’s nonsense. Of course we do. We’re only human, after all. Or at least some of us were. Once.

My name is Edge. I’m an angel. And this is my story.

I understand how confusing it might seem at first, all the questions you’re probably asking yourself. Like aren’t angels and humans fundamentally different? Aren’t we completely separate species? Weren’t angels created first? The simple answer to all those questions is yes. But whoever said the universe was simple?

There’s nothing uncomplicated about the human heart. There’s nothing easy when it comes to free will. If you consider all the trouble a soul can get itself into, or if you think about all the tasks the celestial hosts are called on to perform, you’ll see why it only makes good sense for there to be more than one type of angel in the world. Besides, if you’d ever caught even a glimpse of one of the seraphim -- those fierce and fearsome creatures forever on fire to do battle against the forces of darkness -- you’d think twice too about using them as messengers to ordinary people. Never mind sending one of them to stand watch over the kiddies while they sleep!

The path to becoming an angel is actually far easier than you might imagine. All you have to do is lose your soul. That’s another concept many people find difficult to grasp. Soul loss. It’s something else that comes entirely too easily to most of us. Sudden death, violence, a lack of closure, guilt -- that’s all it takes sometimes. You lose your way. You disconnect. Your soul fractures. The next thing you know, you’re waking up here. Stuck in limbo. Unable to move on to heaven…or the next plane of existence…your next lifetime…

Okay, you want the truth? We don’t really know where we’re supposed to go from here. All we know is we aren’t going anywhere. Not yet. Not until we’ve found our closure, mended our fences, or in some cases, performed a truly unselfish act.

Unselfish. Now that’s hard.

Most of the folks here don’t have it as tough as that. They’ve just got closure issues to deal with. Closure is a piece of cake. It’s something almost anyone can manage once they’re ready for it. I’ve seen people find closure in the damnedest things. But unselfish acts -- truly unselfish acts? Well, that’s a whole nother story.

Take me, for example. I committed suicide. That’s what landed me here. And you really can’t get much more self-absorbed than that.
