I write partially for me, partially for my characters (because you should always do what those voices in your head are telling you to do) and partially for my editor (she made me say that) but ALWAYS for the readers.PG Fortehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00819909187492632526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22658466.post-1603770058879817802009-10-30T11:16:30.861-07:002009-10-30T11:16:30.861-07:00From a reader's point of view, I don't thi...From a reader's point of view, I don't think its so much as considered porn. If i wanted porn, i'd get a movie. but reading, sex is a part of any story and obviously needed, most times. It allows us to be thrown into the moment to experience what emotions are at hand along with the struggles to get there. Stay true to your writing, you are after all, doing it for us. If no one else has said it, I'll gladly be the first... In any event, when I go to the social function that we both attend, I may or may not see a few raised brows. So be it. I do know that writing erotic romance presents a whole new challenge in developing these characters, and the sex needs to be intrinsic to the whole story, character, plotting, etc. I'm currently writing a vampire erotic romance and yes indeed the sex is hot, hot, hot, but it also shows the motivation/conflict of these characters; one who simply wants to dominate, the other who although she's the submissive, needs to control.
Collette Thomas
http://www.newsletterofcollettethomas.blogspot.comCollette Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05111081825676864339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22658466.post-45107931208568079072009-05-01T13:16:00.000-07:002009-05-01T13:16:00.000-07:00Thank you PG! I too like to write very hot sex in my stories, and you're right...the difference between what we write and porn is how the sex moves the story forward, how it changes the characters.
